Hollnsteiner, a 21-year-old senior business major from Staten Island, was kayaking on Lake Tekapo in New Zealand with 10 other students Friday when strong winds and waves capsized their kayaks into freezing water.

The building was evacuated for about 10 minutes at around 9 p.m., but people have since been allowed to recenter the building and workers returned to finish cleaning their stations.
A UB student reported to UPD that he was hit in the back of head with a BB, which caused a minor injury, that was shot out of what appeared to be an air pistol. The reported assault occurred while the victim was walking on the sidewalk near Hayes Annex B at 5:03 p.m.
In the past, UB alumni weren’t automatic members of the Alumni Association unless they paid a monthly, annual or lifetime membership fee.
