Women’s basketball head coach Becky Burke has left her position for the head coach job at the University of Arizona, UB Athletics announced on Wednesday.
Women’s basketball (30-7, 13-5 MAC) defeated the Troy University Trojans (24-14, 13-5 SBC) 88-84 in the Women’s National Invitation Tournament (WNIT) Championship game on Saturday evening, in front of a sold-out Alumni Arena crowd of 5,650 people.
Women’s basketball (29-7 13-5 MAC) continued their play in the Women’s National Invitation Tournament (WNIT) with a hard-fought battle against the Cleveland State Vikings (27-10, 14-6 HL), winning 74-69 on Wednesday night.
On Sunday afternoon, women’s basketball (28-7, 13-5 MAC) continued their win streak, defeating the Rutgers Scarlet Knights (13-20, 2-15 B1G) 71-64 to signal a move onto the Fab 4 round of the Women’s National Invitational Tournament (WNIT).
Following their win against the Bowling Green Falcons (18-13, 11-7 MAC) on Wednesday, the Bulls (25-7, 13-5 MAC) faced the Toledo Rockets (24-7, 13-5 MAC) in the Mid-American Conference (MAC) Tournament semifinals on Friday afternoon. While the Bulls held Toledo to a low-scoring game of 56-48, they were unable to take home the win.
On Wednesday night, the Bulls (25-6, 13-5 MAC), who were slotted at the third seed, played their first game of the Mid-American Conference (MAC) tournament against sixth seed, Bowling Green Falcons (18-3, 11-7 MAC) in Cleveland, OH.
After a tough loss to Toledo (21-6,12-4 MAC) this past Wednesday, women's basketball (22-5,11-4 MAC) regained their momentum on Saturday with a resounding 71-54 victory over the Eastern Michigan Eagles (2-25,1-15 MAC) at Alumni Arena.

After securing a hard-fought win against Kent State (16-10, 8-5 MAC) on Wednesday, women’s basketball (21-4, 10-3 MAC) continued their winning ways on Saturday by defeating the Miami (OH) RedHawks (16-9, 8-6 MAC) with a score of 68-54, building momentum ahead of the MAC tournament next month.
Wednesday night’s 76–70 game was not only a crucial win for the Bulls, but also a celebration of Pride Night, where the players, staff and community members came together to honor love and inclusivity throughout the evening.
After falling to the Toledo University Rockets (17-5,8-3 MAC) last Wednesday in front of a record-breaking crowd, women's basketball (19-4,8-3 MAC) were then defeated by the University of Coastal Carolina Chanticleers (17-6,7-5 SBC) in a hard-fought game, with a final score of 73-65.
Women’s basketball (19-2, 8-2 MAC) defeated the Northern Illinois Huskies (9-12, 3-7 MAC) with a score of 84-58 in the first game of Saturday afternoon’s basketball doubleheader in Alumni Arena. The game was a celebration of National Girls and Women in Sports Day, and marked head coach Becky Burke’s 50th win with the UB Bulls.
The UB Bulls (2-0, 0-0 MAC) defeated the Buffalo State Bengals (0-0, 0-0 SUNYAC) 123-44 in the first game of Friday night’s basketball doubleheader in Alumni Arena.
Women’s basketball (1-0, 0-0 MAC) opened their regular season with a nail-biter against the Troy University Trojans (0-1, 0-0 SBC) in the Mid-American Conference (MAC) Sun-Belt Challenge. The game remained close throughout all four quarters, but the Bulls were able to secure the win with a final score of 80-78.
