Giving the Gift of Fun

Beginning today and running until Dec. 2, Student Association-sponsored clubs will be accepting toys to be donated to charity this holiday season.SA Community Service Director Lisa Galus created the Toy Drive three years ago as a way to benefit orphans within the Buffalo community."All toys are given to the United Way in which they are distributed to local organizations who are need of them," Galus said.

Out of all the courses undergraduate students must take to receive a SUNY diploma, perhaps the most disliked and the most complained about is the foreign language requirement."Why do I need to take (Spanish/French/Italian/Chinese) to graduate when I want to be a(n) (economist/reporter/politician)?" students have asked for years.

I challenge anyone to find a city in America with worse drivers than Buffalo. If, perchance, I was kidnapped and blindfolded, I think that I would be able to identify my surroundings as Western New York, simply because of the poor drivers inhabiting this area.

Men's BasketballBrian Andre and Andrew Atman have both signed National Letters of Intent to attend UB and play for the basketball team, according to Head Coach Reggie Witherspoon.Andre is a 6'9", 270-pound forward from Bingham, Maine (Valley High School). His team compiled a 105-1 record during his four seasons there, and Andre averaged 19 points, 11 rebounds, and 3.5 blocks per game his senior year.

The Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Alliance presented "Out Loud and Proud Speakers Night," featuring two members of MTV's reality television show, "The Real World," who spoke about their experiences with homosexuality, college and their time on television.Chris Beckman from "The Real World: Chicago," and Danny Roberts from "The Real World: New Orleans," who were known only by their first names on the show, addressed a packed house of students at Slee Concert Hall Tuesday night."We are here tonight to listen to two distinguished individuals who are committed to the same goals as our club - breaking down stereotypes, creating more unity and having more pride," said LGBTA President Cory J.
