Voters pass referendum election

The student activity fee vote ended Thursday night, resulting in a two-year continuance of the $80 mandatory fee; although voter turnout was sufficient and the majority got their way, the undergraduate community should not feel the job is done quite yet.Although students have officially told the Student Association to keep spending their money, a certain level of entitlement should come with this experience.

Black's letter criticizes others who voice opinions

Bob Black's ("Dalai Lama an inappropriate speaker choice," Sept. 20) comments on the inappropriateness of the Dalai Lama speaker choice is sure an amusing one, seeing that his comments emanate racism and prejudice against all other with the exception of the Chinese Student Association and Campus Crusade for Christ.A few things to clarify.

Minding fees and queues

This fall, the newly instituted iPrint system became a permanent fixture in campus computer labs and libraries, limiting the amount of pages students can print per semester while working to cut back on print delays.Under the system, 650 pages are allotted to each student per semester, with an additional 200 pages during the summer session.

The desire to someday play Major League Soccer has taken senior forward Andrae Clarke from his Jamaican home to the Bronx and finally, to Buffalo.It was the influence of a national soccer hero that introduced Clarke to the sport while growing up in Jamaica.

A new weapon in the battle against sexually transmitted diseases will soon be a reality for students at UB.In June 2006, the FDA approved "Gardasil," a vaccination for the human papillomavirus, the most common sexually transmitted virus.
