Tragedy in any language

Anything that happens today can result in disaster tomorrow. Such is the case in Alejandro Gonzalez's drama "Babel," as he takes the concept of a chain-reaction to epic proportions.The film's abstract and philosophical plot is similar to that of Gonzalez's previously acclaimed feature "21 Grams." The storyline races around and keeps the audience's constant attention, steadily building up momentum as each story draws closer to its inevitable climax.

Audience won't ignite over 'Fire'

In certain situations, even the most righteous, law-abiding citizen can be transformed into a terrorist."Catch a Fire," the latest film from director Phillip Noyce ("The Quiet American"), attempts to prove this ideology by portraying the struggle of a factory oil foreman, Patrick Chamusso (Derek Luke, "Glory Road"), as he battles with the threat of apartheid in South Africa.

Ludacris goes against the grain

Chris Bridges, better known as Ludacris, Atlanta's most influential rapper, claims that hip-hop is just a game and that the game itself "ain't nothin' without me."Reflecting on all of his albums, he said in an interview with The Spectrum, "I always strive to be the best."In his new album titled "Release Therapy," Luda attempts to best portray the complexities of human nature and personalities.
