This weekend in Buffalo just got saucy

Riding the UB Stampede is now easier for students with disabilities because of a new fleet of wheelchair-accessible buses.
I am thrilled to introduce a brand new weekly series aimed at our campus' audio heads. For people who take music seriously - whether they're guitarists, DJs, producers, or simply avid listeners - it's all about the gear. By starting this series of reviews, I want to help bring music lovers on campus the thirst for gizmos that we seem to share in the music biz. Headphones, guitar amps, microphones, studio equipment, DJ interfaces and just about anything that turns electricity into sound will be reviewed by yours truly. And of course, with the average student's budget in mind, I will try to find devices for the frugally inclined.
Last night ended the Republican National Convention; Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan accepted the respective nominations for president and vice president. The convention, which got off to a late start because of Hurricane Isaac, ran from Aug.
UB continues holding its title as a great place to work. For another year, the university holds a spot on a list published by The Chronicle for Higher Education. In a survey taken by 47,000 people from 294 institutions all over the country, The Chronicle has named UB as one of the top 103 colleges to work for. The list of institutions was determined by a survey that asked administrators, faculty members and professional staff questions about both the institution itself in regards to its educational prowess, as well as an evaluation of the institution as an employer. According to the survey, UB excelled in two areas in particular: "Compensation and Benefits" and "Tenure Clarity and Process." Michael A.
While drinking and class are some of the main activities that we engage in as students, they can take a toll on the body if practiced everyday. Catching a flick once in a while is good for the soul and winter is steadily approaching, so you have to be prepared and know when the good movies are dropping.
Here are some back-to-school albums to look forward to while the campus turns slowly into a giant icicle. This list is a mere centimeter out of the yards of album releases this fall. However, the cream of the current harvest is undoubtedly included with three of the hottest young artists and one folk legend that need no introduction.
I love uniforms. Seriously, all that fabric with the different designs and colors that fans over pay for every year, I love it. So much so that I will spend countless hours staring at Google image search results of any and all uniforms that I can find.

Each week, The Spectrum will publish a quick Q&A with someone on campus - an administrator, professor or student - to give a glimpse into his or her life and focus on the diversity of UB.
When I transferred to UB as a sophomore, I was petrified. I left St. Bonaventure due to its size and lack of diversity to a larger school that, in numbers, seemed like the place for me.

Anyone tuned into Twitter last weekend might have caught a glimpse of what was going on at the University of Georgia.
When I first applied to UB, all of my friends asked me the same thing: "Isn't it cold there?" I usually replied: "Yeah, it probably is but my brother goes there, and it's far from
Earlier this month, the Student Association announced the acts for one of the few events our student body shows any interest in: Fall Fest. The show will feature N.Y.-based rapper French Montana and be headlined by Roc Nation artist J. Cole and the up-and-coming Childish Gambino.
Justin Neuwirt never made team captain or got straight A's, although he tried for both. He tried harder than most of the people he knew in high school and then watched as most of his friends set off for Ivy League schools, while he enrolled at UB. None of it bothered him.
The Student Association is redeeming Fall Fest from "Fray Fest."
8/21 1:38 p.m. - A caller said there was a suspicious male in his lab in room 649 of the Biomedical Research Building.
Although the textbooks are out, the pencils are sharpened, and the homework is piling up, there is still room to enjoy the semester, including the best of what Buffalo has to offer on the music scene. With shows showcasing the Buffalo Outer Harbor, and various other venues, there is a concert for every kind of student trying to get away from the grueling, impending work load.
