Although it?s no Madison Square Garden, Buffalo is a hotspot for big and small bands. Everyday, multiple shows are held at local venues all over the city such as Town Ballroom, Waiting Room, Mohawk Place and Buffalo Iron Works.


Dr. Kushal Bhardwaj’s popular class, Hip Hop and Social Issues manages to attract students for hours after the three hour class is over. The freestyle sessions after each class often end when the janitors come to clean the room at midnight.

  The Emerging Choreographers’ Showcase opened Saturday on North Campus. The show was postponed on Thursday, but performed to a full-house on Saturday at the Katherine Cornell Theatre.

UB?s Musical Theatre program fought off the foul weather to put on an intimate and well-rehearsed performance of ?The Man Who Would Be King.? The play was performed at the Center For the Arts? Black Box Theatre on Saturday. Emily Aiing Ling, The Spectrum After three delays due to the egregious winter storm, the students of UB?s Musical Theatre program proved the show must go on by performing ?The Man Who Would Be King? Saturday. The play was adapted from the Rudyard Kipling novella of the same name.

Winter storm 'Knife' cuts some CFA performances

The Center for the Arts? events calendar was full of plays and events this week, many of which were delayed, canceled or postponed due this week?s massive lake effect storm. The Department of Theatre & Dance?s production of ?The Man Who Would Be King,? was canceled Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evening due to weather.
