University Police is investigating three incidents of fire alarms being falsely pulled. Two of the incidents occurred with the same fire alarm in the Student Union.

University Police is investigating three incidents of falsely-pulled fire alarms on campus.

The first incident occurred in the Student Union on Nov. 23, and the others occurred Monday in the Union and Alumni Arena. Because there was no smoke or fire present in the buildings when the alarms went off, the incidents appear to be false reports, said Deputy Chief of Police Joshua Sticht.

Both incidents in the Union occurred with the same alarm. Sticht said because there are no cameras in the area of the Union where the alarm is, UPD cannot see who pulled it.

The alarm that was pulled in Alumni Arena had “some” video surveillance, so UPD is using it to look further into the matter, Sticht said.

UPD will continue to investigate the incidents.
