Kased unfairly represented

Letter to the Editor

It is with some concern that I have been following your coverage of the SA "scandal."

It has occurred to me that you have consistently portrayed SA Treasurer Mazin Kased as guilty, both in editorials and non-editorial articles, despite the fact that his innocence has not been disproven. By insinuating that the majority of students align themselves with ROC, you have also once again come close to becoming eligible for a lawsuit against yourselves for defamation of character.

I am sure that you are probably aware that in real world law enforcement, a suspect is innocent until proven guilty. It is therefore your duty as editors to put your opinions and anti-SA bias aside when writing regular articles and aside from quotes from the accusers not to call an innocent person guilty.

As I myself have spoken to Mazin on several occasions I am convinced of his innocence and the ludicrous nature of the ROC party's suit. Just like a real court, the Student-wide Judiciary is not obligated to hear just any suit, and should therefore refuse to hear the ROC party's suit as it lacks both merit and credibility.
