Women's swim team starts MAC play with victory

As the schedule moved from the last two non-scoring meets into the opening of the Mid-American Conference slate, the women's swim team finally got the opportunity to prove its potential in the first scored meet of the season. On Saturday afternoon, the Bulls (1-0, 1-0 MAC) welcomed Akron (1-2, 0-2 MAC) to Alumni Arena for the opening of conference play.

Bulls capture first victory of the season

After a below-average performance in the Cornell Invitational, the women's tennis team stepped up and crushed Big Four rival Niagara - securing its first win in its first contest of the year. The Bulls (1-0) came away with a dominant 7-0 victory when they hosted the Purple Eagles (0-1) this Saturday at the University Tennis Center. "I think we played well against Niagara," said junior Tanvi Shah.

Women's soccer drops first MAC contest

The women's soccer team's offensive prowess has improved of late, but crucial mistakes late in games have been the squad's downfall. A late penalty kick provided the momentum for Ball State (4-3-2, 1-0 Mid-American Conference) to take control as the Bulls (2-6-1, 0-1 MAC) suffered their first MAC defeat of the season with a 2-1 loss on Friday at the Briner Sports Complex in Muncie, Ind. Like many of their losses during this season, the deciding blow occurred late - in the 80th minute.

Bulls get triumphant win and third place at Grand Island

It's only the start of the season, but the men and women's cross country teams are already showing some progress. Buffalo hosted the UB Stampede Invitational on Saturday at Beaver Island State Park and faced the likes of Akron, Bowling Green, Niagara, Colgate and Robert Morris. The men's team triumphed again and came in first place for the second consecutive year with 28 points.
