SA Adds New Clubs to Its Roster
By IRINA GORODETSKAYA | Sep. 9, 2002UB's Student Association has welcomed several new clubs to its roster this semester, with interests ranging from sports to politics.New clubs include the College Republicans, the College Democrats, Baha'i Club, Roller Hockey Club, Go Girls Soccer Club, Old School Games Club, Men's Soccer, and Dart Team.Michael Dobies, president of the College Republicans, said the club already has over 100 new members, obtained while it still had temporary club status and "is gaining new members every day."SA has acknowledged the club to be one of the most active new clubs at UB, and already has several events planned for the year.
UB Creates Virtual Anatomy for Student Study
By JENNA LENHARDT AND ERIN SHULTZ | Sep. 9, 2002Through a collaboration with five of UB's schools and departments, David Fineberg, clinical assistant professor of oral and maxillofacial surgery, has created a model of the human body that feels and responds like a live human.According to Fineberg, the "Living Anatomy" model is a "physical virtual interactive tool for medical, dental, physical therapy, physicians assistants, chiropractic, and nursing (students)." Fineberg described the model as a flight simulator of human anatomy."If you're going to simulate flight, you have to build a cockpit," Fineberg said.

By Editorial | Sep. 6, 2002South Campus will, finally, receive renovations - school officials have laid out plans for expansions and improvements that will open apartment-style housing on South Campus, in addition to remodeling the residence halls currently available.The plans, announced at an Amherst Town Board meeting Monday night, call for the transformation of Goodyear Hall into apartments, construction of brand-new apartment buildings, and the renovation of Clement Hall and Harriman Hall.
