Fallfest 2003 Lineup

This year's line-up for Fallfest is official. The unnatural trifecta of Lil' Kim, Busta Rhymes, and Godsmack will be taking the stage on Friday, Sept.

Housing overflow lands students in area hotels

A flood of freshmen and transfer students has forced UB officials to house 155 students in two local motels and a South Campus office building for the fall semester, until space is found in the residence halls.Students are living in the Super 8 Motel on Flint Road in Amherst and the Microtel on Hospitality Center Way in Tonawanda.UB officials also converted three floors of Michael Hall on South Campus, which houses the student medical center, to residential housing.Joe Krakowiak, director of UB Residence Halls and Apartments, could not confirm a date by which students would move out of the hotels.

UB Robotics Club Aim for First Place

Years of practice and putting engineering skills to work will culminate in a laundry competition for the UB Robotics Club when they head to Knoxville, Tenn., on Sept 8 to face opposing robotics clubs.In Tennessee the club will take part in a television competition that will schedule teams of three, each representing a college, against one another in a fourteen-team tournament.

A major part of undergraduate course selection each semester involves making provisions for general education courses - courses that often incite groans of disgust from returning students and may not pertain to a student's major but fall under university requirements for graduation.Such courses include math, writing, history, basic social sciences and computing.Peter S.
