Bulls Blow 2-1 Lead to Zips

You could hear a pin drop in Alumni Arena after Akron's game-winning spike in game four sent this volleyball match into a decisive fifth game.The Bulls (9-15, 3-7 Mid-American Conference) had a 2-1 advantage going into that fourth game, and rallied back from a 14-8 deficit to finally tie the game at 21 with the third of three consecutive kills by Lindsay Matikosh.

Bulls Tune Up Against Cornell

With the Mid-American Conference Tournament looming, the women's soccer team wanted to tune up their game in the season finale against Cornell University.With a 3-2 victory over Cornell, the Bulls concluded their regular season Wednesday night at Berman Field with a seasonal record of 11-7-1 overall (6-5-1 MAC), and a secure spot in the MAC tournament playoffs, which begin Nov.

County Executive Candidates Clash at UB Debate

UB Law School alumnus and Democratic candidate for county executive Dan Ward met Republican incumbent Joel Giambra for a heated debate Tuesday night in O'Brian Hall.Hosted by the Progressive Law Society and the Law School Republicans, the debate focused on Giambra's regionalism plan, his record in his first term as county executive and both candidates' ideas for economic development in Erie County.

A figure almost as recognizable in UB athletics as Victor E. Bull may be a thing of the past after the football team's win this weekend.Known by Bulls fans for his extremely vocal cheering, regular attendance and signature blue body paint, Jon Amitrano was ticketed for disorderly conduct after rushing the field following the team's first win in 18 consecutive games.

UB's Student Health Services is arming students against one of the season's most prevalent illnesses - the influenza virus.The 2003-04 strain of the influenza vaccination, commonly known as a flu shot, is free to UB students with a valid UB Card and costs $10 for UB staff and faculty.The vaccine is being administered by licensed medical technicians in the Student Union lobby between Oct.
