Fire Hose Prank Floods Fargo

Pete Limpraphanonta wasn't quite sure what to make of the muddy brown water pouring down his Fargo stairwell Monday afternoon."Water was coming down the stairs from the third floor - hard," said Limpraphanonta, a sophomore physical therapy major.

Art Students Stage Protest Against Visual Arts

Seven students combed the after-lunch crowd in the Student Union Friday to plead their case - to stop supporting UB's arts programs because other, more serious programs suffer from a lack of funding.A group calling itself Students Against Visual Arts set up shop in the atrium, armed with pamphlets and petitions, and began to rile up unsuspecting students."Don't you think science laboratories should have their own equipment?" senior Ron Douglas asked of a pharmacy student who said he pays high lab equipment fees.

Tough D and Hot Threes Propel UB to Victory

The saying goes live by the three, die by the three. On Saturday night in Alumni Arena, the Bulls certainly lived by the three-point shot.UB hit eight of their 16 three-point attempts, as Mario Jordan paced the Bulls with 16 points, and Buffalo won their second in a row with an 86-66 win over the Youngstown State Penguins (2-4).The Bulls (2-3, 1-0 MAC) were clicking on all cylinders, but they were especially deadly from three-point range, shooting an amazing 55.6 percent from beyond the arc in the first half.

WrestlingThe Buffalo Bulls' wrestling squad performed brilliantly on Sunday at the Kent State Duals in the Memorial Athletic and Convocation Center in sweeping their two contests against Kent State University and Mount Union College.In improving their record to 5-0 (1-0 Mid-American Conference), UB were able to soundly defeat KSU 21-13 and obliterate MU 39-6.Kyle Cerminara, Ed Pawlak, Mike Trotta, Patrick Lloyd, Mark McKnight and Nick Rausenberger all went 2-0 on the day.Women's SwimmingThe women's swimming team took part in this weekend's US open championships in Federal Way, Wash.
