Safe at home

A late night incident at Buffalo State landed the college on the morning news. Just before 4 a.m., two students were robbed at gunpoint in their dorm room. The suspects took cash and a cell phone and then fled the scene.

At 9 years old, Grace Armbruster faced one of the most challenging obstacles in her life. After struggling with reading in her classes for years, she finally found out why she always felt left behind and wasn't learning things as fast as the rest of her classmates. She is dyslexic. According to research done by Headstrong Nation, one in seven Americans is diagnosed with learning disabilities.

On Wednesday, Oct. 24, the Student Association Assembly met to voice its opinions on the proposed Student Life legislation, which would possibly shift much of SA's power to the university-administered Student Life. The Assembly discussed its options and decided to hold a meeting on Oct.

Senate awards grants to clubs

On Sunday, Oct. 21, the Student Association Senate met in Student Union 378 at 5 p.m. The senators granted a total of $3,418.50 to six Student Association clubs. Each club had five minutes to present why they believed they should receive additional funding beyond their allotted budget.

Horses and bayonets got a lot of buzz, but aside from that, Monday night lacked luster. The final Presidential Debate between Barack Obama and Mitt Romney wrapped up Monday night on what was supposed to be a riveting, 90-minute discussion on foreign policy.

With blood dripping, the illusion of open wounds and gruesome looks that made a little boy outside the Student Union cry, the Strategists and Role-Players Association (SARPA) had one thing on their mind Friday night: brains. The group of student zombies boomed through the Union, stormed the Promenade, crept around Capen's corners and crashed the homecoming carnival.

Students revolt against proposed Student Life legislation

Student Association President Travis Nemmer is "professionally and personally" offended. The way he sees it, the Office of Student Life is saying every SA club needs a UB staff member to "play mommy or daddy." Director of Student Life Tom Tiberi says Nemmer is wrong; Student Life is just trying to help SA. But Nemmer is not alone in his concern.
