This weekend was the 14th annual National Buffalo Chicken Wing Festival, more commonly known as Wingfest. The event lasted Saturday and Sunday and allowed community members and visitors from around the world to taste flavors from various vendors of Buffalo’s famous export: the chicken wing.
Eddie’s Chophouse opened on Main Street near South Campus on July 13 in what used to be Slice of Italy. The restaurant offers Chinese barbecue, a style of Chinese cuisine that is a collection of roasted meats that are hung in a Chinese smoker rather than an oven. The chicken and duck both have bones and are chopped before serving.
The owners of The U are turning the building that housed the only 18-and-over club option for students near North Campus into a Mexican-themed restaurant called Papi Grande’s Mexican Restaurant and Cantina.

UB Relay For Life celebrated its 10th year at its 12-hour event on Friday. The event, created by the American Cancer Society, raises money to fight cancer and aims to increase cancer awareness and celebrate cancer survivors. It is an overnight fundraising walk as teams “camp out” overnight and members walk around the track.
