How UB arts students handle finals week

Students in arts majors programs employ preparation techniques different than many students, mainly due to the nature of their examinations. Most of their finals examinations are performance-based – although some do involve memorization – but the physical and creative aspect of art is hard to quantify on just paper alone.

Putting on music when studying might be more important than you think. Many studies have shown a connection between playing music and increased focus.

Music and memory

Regardless of whether it’s beneficial or not, many students claim that listening to some form of music when they are studying actually helps them out distractions and focus on the task at hand.

'Fargo' is getting colder and colder

If there’s one criticism of this season, it’s that “Fargo” will build up to a death scene only to have something intervene or someone change his or her mind. It’s a clever way to keep the audience interested without any real consequences – but after a while, the audience will catch on.
