Hatred contributes nothing

Letter to the Editor

Mr. Vigliotti, my question is just how does your hatred and self-proclaimed disgust help in any way? Does criticizing what you do not understand give productive ideas to those who want to actually help the world be a better place?

Some people in the gay and lesbian community hold a drag show. So what! Is Mr. Vigliotti's culture the only one he understands or is willing to understand?

In his letter he manages to ask what being proud means. Here is a simple explanation for you, Mr. Vigliotti. Being proud means two things: standing up for people who are like you and other people who are not like you.

Also, if heterosexuals keep their sex lives behind closed doors, then why is it I just saw two students kissing and holding hands an hour ago? Maybe instead of practicing bigotry against the gay and lesbian community you should start chasing down those private heterosexuals and tell them to starting hiding behind closed doors, just like you want the gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and transsexual communities to do.

I truly believe Mr. Vigliotti wants to be fair to all people, so this is his chance to do that. After he is done telling heterosexuals to be more private he could maybe display his many trophies instead of his bigotry.
