Voter registration closes Friday


Friday is the last day to register to vote in New York for the Nov. 4 general election.

Students registering to vote by mail must have their application postmarked by Friday. In-person registration also closes on Friday for those who are not honorably discharged from the military or will become a naturalized citizen after Oct. 10, according to www.rockthevote.com.

To be eligible to vote, you must be a U.S. citizen, be 18 years old by the day of the election and live at your present permanent address for at least 30 days prior to the election. Additional restrictions apply.
