Bulley and Bailey Named Athletes of the Week

???Junior forward Dan Bulley of the men's soccer team and sophomore midfielder Lindsey Bailey of the women's soccer team were both named athletes of the week on Monday.

???Bulley earned the title after his performance at Buffalo's final home game, a match against Northern Illinois. Bulley scored on a penalty kick, tying the game. With Bulley's score, the Bulls avoided their first loss in nine matches.

Bailey was honored for her play against both Eastern Michigan and Central Michigan. She had an assist that helped the Bulls get to a 1-1 tie against the Eagles and scored the game-tying goal against the Chippewas, which ended up a 2-2 final. Bailey currently leads her team with seven goals this season.

Men's rugby blown out by Syracuse

???On Sunday, in a match of undefeated teams, Buffalo and Syracuse clashed on the rugby field, looking to find who was worthy of first place in the New York State Rugby Conference (NYSRC). In a major upset, Syracuse blew out Buffalo, 47-7.

???Buffalo, one of the strongest teams in the NYSRC, could only get one try on the board. Try-scorers for Syracuse included Brian Goldstein, Derrick Chafin, Steve Patch and Tim Ferro.

???Buffalo drops to second place in the conference with a 4-1 record, while Syracuse holds first place rights with an undefeated 5-0 record.

Looking to rebound after the shocking loss, Buffalo will host third place Binghamton on Oct. 18. Game time is 1 p.m.
