The Spectrum Watchlist

This Week's Theme: ÒIn Honor of the Political Satire (Thank You, Mr. Colbert)Ó

Classic: Three Kings ("1999")

George Clooney, Mark Wahlberg, and Ice Cube (yes, that Ice Cube) star as rogue soldiers stationed in Iraq the day after the first Iraq War ends. After finding a treasure map in the buttocks of an Iraqi prisoner, the three-armed amigos go searching for gold Bullion, and instead find political hypocrisy.

Current: Head of State ("2003")

Chris Rock's directorial debut observes the comedic trials of a black, initially no-chance Democratic candidate (sound familiar?) Mays Gilliam. The movie plays off mostly every black (and white) political stereotype and succeeds in doing so without ever backing down to The Man.
