MAC Baseball Tournament information announced
For the second time in Mid-American Conference history, the league's baseball tournament will be played on a neutral site. The 2008 tournament will be held from May 21-24 in Chillicothe, Ohio. Games will be held at VA Memorial stadium, which seats 4,000 and features a Field Turf playing surface. Chillicothe is located about an hour south of Columbus.
This year's championships will introduce a new format, expanding from six to eight teams and feature a bracket of two pools, with the winner of each double-elimination pool meeting in a one-game, winner-take-all championship game. The bracket system reflects the one used in the College World Series.
Kent State won last year's tournament, which was hosted by Eastern Michigan.
