Baseball home opener moved to St. Bonaventure

The Buffalo Bulls baseball team will begin their conference season with a three-game series versus Northern Illinois at St. Bonaventure's Handler Park at McGraw-Jennings Field. The series was moved from Amherst Audobon Field due to field conditions.

The times of the games have also been changed. The Bulls and Huskies will play a double-header on Saturday, March 22nd and a single game on Sunday, March 23rd.

The Bulls will enter conference play with a record of 5-11.

Parker named to Academic All-MAC Team

Senior wrestler Jeff Parker was named to the 2008 Wrestling Academic All-MAC Team. He was one of 10 wrestlers recognized.

Parker, an environmental design major, has a 3.27 GPA. This season he posted a 27-15 record, including an 11-6 record in duel meets, wrestling in the 285-pound weight class. He finished third at the MAC Championships.

Barr named MAC East player of the week

Sophomore infielder/pitcher Sharon Barr was named MAC East Player of the Week on Tuesday.

Barr hit .875 with two RBIs and two doubles at the Kansas Invitational.

Divers qualify for NCAA Nationals

Sophomores Meili Carpenter and Michael McDowell became the first Buffalo divers to qualify for the NCAA Division I Swimming & Diving Championships at the NCAA Zone A Diving Championships.

Carpenter won the women's platform event while McDowell placed second in the men's event.

The NCAA Championships began on Thursday and last until Saturday, March 22.
