The football team released its 2005 schedule, which includes six teams that were bowl-eligible last year.

The Bulls will start the season on the road, at Connecticut. They will then travel to Syracuse for their second game of the season.

Their first home game of the season will be Sept. 17 against Big East rival Rutgers. The Scarlet Knights currently lead the series between the two schools, 3-1. The Bulls' homecoming game is scheduled three weeks later, on Oct. 8 against Akron. The Bulls have never beaten the Zips - although next season, Akron will be without its former star quarterback, Charlie Frye, who will enter this year's NFL draft.

Other than Syracuse, Rutgers and Connecticut, the Bulls do not have any games scheduled against non-conference opponents.

Multi-talented athletes

Todd Joki and Patrice Coney represented the track and field team at the Sea Ray Relays in Tennessee on Wednesday night.

Joki competed in the decathlon, finishing seventh with 6,272 total points. His first day of the two-day, 10-event competition ended with a second place finish and a pair of third place finishes in the first five events. He was not able to find the same success in his second day, however, as he dropped from fourth place overall to seventh place. He was, however, able to place third in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15 seconds.

Coney competed in the heptathlon, finishing the seven events with 4,627 points, which was good for an eighth-place finish. She was able to claim a second-place finish in the final event of the competition, the 800-meter race. Her sixth place finish in the opening event of the competition, the 100-meter hurdles, marked a personal best for her as she finished in 14.71 seconds. Jessica Stockard of the University of Georgia ran away with first place, as she finished 200 points ahead of the second and third place finishers. Stockard compiled 5,369 points.
