I would like to comment on the recent documentary on Tibet, "Tibet: The Cry of Snow Lion" screened on the last day of International Educational week at Student Union Theatre. The documentary features the reality of current Tibet under the neighboring Communist rule and its negative influences on the Tibetan people.
Unfortunately many Chinese students and scholars are not aware of what is going on in Tibet and its political status. At the same time, I also felt sorry about the filmmakers portraying Beijing government in negative shades. I wish the filmmaker would also take into account some of the positive effects brought by Beijing to Tibet.
