I am writing in regards to your evaluation of the Student Association Executive Board ("Student Association: Five-month Report Card," Oct. 6), which was unnecessarily critical.
Although you acknowledge that the E-board has only had a few months in office, of which only just one month has been during this semester, you seem to expect the E-board to have already fulfilled all their promises. Despite the fact that expecting a politician to fulfill all their campaign promises is quite a naive thing to do, I don't believe that the SA E-board set out to accomplish all they promised in these few months. You should also consider that oftentimes reality clashes with theory and makes what seemed like a great plan impossible to execute.
Instead of unnecessarily criticizing them I would actually commend them a lot more for accomplishing so much in so little time as most politicians at the state and especially at the federal level often don't even achieve this much over the span of a whole term. So in the spirit of that great VH1 show, let's have a round of applause for the best SA ever!
