Prior to spring break, on the afternoon of Friday, March 15, there was a dogmatic display of righteous gibberish laid out by several Christian right advocates. This occurred outside the Student Union on the northeast side. One particular speaker condemned myself as well as others to hell as we are wicked and evil. According to this young man, this was not his opinion; it was indeed fact, as he proclaimed some connection to the Divine.
I, in my pragmatic fashion, asked for proof of God's existence. "It is simple," he replied, " there is a building over there, there are people all around, there are paintings, how else did these come to exist?"
Typical intellectual laziness that is prevalent amongst the extreme religious right. However, this is what is scary about this faction. They want you to accept things, sometimes absurdities, on their self-proclaimed authority. My advice to these members and others like them who are looking to save souls; look at your Christian brethren who have abused their authority by molesting their young followers. Hey, get them to come clean. Get them to ask for salvation, these same self-proclaimed righteous "saviors" deserve the eternity in hell that you proclaim exists. These are the perverts that need salvation.
If you want any credibility with me, take a stand on this issue: help ferret out these perverts from the clergy. Until then, you know where you can pack your offensive opinions. You have no right to make judgments about me or anyone else there that you happened to offend with your righteous judgments.
