Wednesday night fight

Let the MAC games begin. After two weeks of playing non-conference opponents, the football team will finally get a chance to back up the comments made by senior defensive end Steven Means, who promised a Mid-American Conference championship before the season. The Bulls' (1-1) first conference opponent is Kent State (1-1). UB will showcase its talents in front of not only Buffalo, but the entire nation, as this game will be broadcast on ESPNU. This game marks the first time Buffalo has had a home game on national TV since 2009, when the Bulls beat the Golden Flashes 9-6.

Upperclassmen unable to dig Bulls out of Cleveland State troubles

The defense stood tall at the net, but the offense was absent again for the volleyball team at the Cleveland State Invitational over the weekend. The Bulls (3-6) were defeated in all three of their matches and only won three of 12 sets in the tournament. They opened the tournament with a 3-1 loss to Cleveland State (6-3). The Bulls won the first set 26-24, but were unable to top the Vikings, losing the final three sets of the game. "I thought we played our best match against Cleveland State," said head coach Todd Kress.

From the opening kick off on Saturday night, the stars were out and shining brightly. They donned their normal fluorescent whites, with a noticeable shade of blue. Junior running back Branden Oliver and junior wide receiver Alex Neutz shone brightest for the Bulls (1-1), setting school Division I records as they routed FCS school Morgan State (1-1), 56-34, Saturday night at UB Stadium. Oliver did what he does best, pulverizing the Bears early and often.
