Eric Hilliker

Eric arrived at the University at Buffalo in 2005, initially as a nuclear medicine major. Quickly realizing that nuclear medicine was not for him and that he wouldn't receive superpowers from a freak science accident, he switched to an English major. During his tenure as an English major, he quickly developed an interest in journalism. After taking a number of journalism courses, Eric finally took the Spectrum class. For the first semester he was a mild-mannered reporter for the Arts Desk. He quickly moved up the ladder, first becoming an advance writer and then an assistant arts editor. He is currently the arts editor. He never sleeps.

Andrew Wiktor

Andrew Wiktor grew up loving sports. He spent his time shooting hoops in parks throughout Queens, NY, played little league baseball and soccer and enjoyed nothing more than watching sports with his friends. When he started writing for The Spectrum four semesters ago, he fell in love with journalism. He began as a staff writer in the fall of 2009 and became an assistant sports editor in the spring. Each semester he has assumed a more demanding position at the Sports Desk and is excited to take over as editor-in-chief next year. Wiktor is an English and political science major here at the University at Buffalo. His dream job is to be a beat writer for the New York Knicks, however, he plans to attend law school after he graduates in order to keep his options open.

Jennifer Good

Jennifer Good is a senior communication major with a focus in journalism at UB. Her first taste of the wonderful world of journalism began while writing the advice column and trend section for her high school newspaper. Jenn furthered her love of writing by joining The Spectrum as a staff writer for the paper's news desk in the spring semester of 2009. After one semester of writing, she accepted her current position as News Desk's city editor. In the summer of 2009 she interned at Riger Advertising in Binghamton, NY. There, in addition to her dream of becoming a broadcast and/or pop culture journalist, she developed an aspiration to work for an advertising agency doing promotional writing and public relations after college. After graduation this spring, Jenn will be moving to NYC, where she plans to frolic in Central Park and pursue every opportunity that comes her way.

Clinton Hodnett

Clinton Hodnett graduated from Fillmore Central School in June of 2009 and started classes at UB the following fall. Unsure of what he wanted to do, he tried a variety of classes his first semester, including working for The Spectrum, intending to do double-duty as a writer and photographer. He quickly realized that Photo Desk was where he belonged, and after a mid-semester promotion to assistant photo editor, he was promoted to photo editor between the fall 2009 and spring 2010 semesters. He is now an English major with intentions of becoming a teacher, and is currently involved in Literature for Miniatures, a volunteer program in Harvey-Austin Elementary which involves tutoring K-4 students. Right now, though, he is just trying to enjoy his time at UB and The Spectrum, and will deal with his future when it gets here.

Adrian Finch

Adrian Finch began writing at a young age. While other students found English class to be monotonous, she enjoyed the novels and the writing opportunities that it offered her. After graduating high school in 2007, Adrian attended the University at Buffalo as a communication major and began working towards a Journalism Certificate. In her sophomore year, she started as a staff writer for the Art's Desk for The Spectrum. Soon after, she was asked to be an Assistant Editor and was then promoted to Life Editor, then later Senior Life Editor. Adrian finds inspiration for writing from her friends, family and the people around her. She finds a thrill and a purpose in reporting and educating students on events that are important to their future. Although a career in journalism isn't her ultimate goal, she hopes to use her writing experience to excel in the field of public relations. After graduating, Adrian hopes to attend graduate school and maintain a career that she's passionate about.

Christy Suhr

Christy Suhr first became interested in journalism as a writer and editor for her high school's newspaper. She dreamed of one day writing for Spin magazine and getting the chance to interview John Mayer. Christy came to UB undecided, and was disappointed to find that they did not offer journalism as a major. She tried out a few programs in the College of Arts and Sciences before choosing communication.

Joe Paterno

Born and raised in Buffalo, New York, Joe is the epitome of a true Buffalonian. A graduate of Kenmore West High School, Joe takes pride in his hometown and appreciates everything the city has to offer. No matter where he may be, Joe never forgets his roots and is proud to be a Western New Yorker. At 21 years old, this dedicated sports fan credits his love of sports to his hometown teams, the Buffalo Bills and the Buffalo Sabres. As a five-year season ticket holder, there's no place Joe would rather be than Ralph Wilson Stadium on a Sunday afternoon or HSBC Arena in the midst of winter. Through the good seasons and bad, Joe is fully devoted to his native teams and will bleed the red, white, blue and gold no matter where he ends up in the future. The senior communication major began writing for the paper during his junior year as a staff writer and was appointed assistant sports editor after one semester. He is currently the senior sports editor and will take a position as managing editor in fall 2010. Joe also works with UBTV as the host of The Sports Bull-etin, a weekly sports show that recaps the past week in Buffalo athletics. His passion for sports led to a love of writing and has given Joe the ambition to begin a career in broadcast journalism. He is currently a programming intern at WGR Sports Radio 550. Following his collegiate days at UB, he hopes to pursue his childhood dream and work with ESPN.

David Sanchirico

David Sanchirico grew up loving sports and reading the Sports section of the Albany Times Union every day. When he was interning for the TU after sophomore year, he realized his dream was coming true. Sanchirico entered Buffalo with no career path in mind, but as a sophomore he started as a Sports Writer and has been with The Spectrum ever since. The Albany native moved up the ranks quickly, becoming an assistant sports editor after one semester and being promoted to sports editor the next. He was promoted to Senior Sports Editor in the Fall '09 semester, and is now a Managing Editor. Throughout this time, Sanchirico has gained experience at many places. Along with his Albany Times Union internship, he has edited for bleacherreport.com and has provided freelance pieces for many other Web sites. He has covered New York Giants Training Camp, the MAAC Tournament, and many other glorified sporting events. Upon graduation, Sanchirico plans to attend graduate school to hone his journalism skills and become a better, more creative writer.

Jennifer Lombardo

Jennifer Lombardo joined The Spectrum in fall 2008 as an assistant copy editor. In spring 2009 she became the senior copy editor, and in fall 2009 she advanced to managing editor. When Jennifer isn't in The Spectrum's dungeon, she's usually working as a writing tutor at the Writing Place. In terms of professional experience, Jennifer interned at PSPRare Publishing, a magazine publishing company, in England over the summer of 2009. Jennifer is an English major who hopes to become a book editor – not a teacher. She enjoys hiking and reading, as well as kittens and long walks on the beach.

Matt Mosher

Matt Mosher is a WNY native, born and raised in Wilson, NY (about 45 minutes north of North Campus). He graduated from Wilson High School in 2005, there he took every media arts and video editing class available, focusing most of his time and energy on those classes. Matt then went on to Niagara County Community College (NCCC), where he started off as a digital media major, but switched after his second semester to communications and media arts, focusing on broadcasting. Throughout Matt's time at NCCC, he made sports highlights films and did other various freelance video works. After graduating from NCCC in December of 2007, Matt transferred to UB, where he entered the communication program. In the fall of 2008, he began writing for The Spectrum as a staff writer for the Life Desk. For the spring 2009 semester, Matt was offered a position as an assistant editor for life desk, which he gladly took. In the fall 2009 semester, he was promoted to Life Desk editor. During the spring 2009 semester, Matt also entered the Journalism Certificate program, took a class dedicated to feature writing and went to a journalism workshop in New York City. In the summer of 2009, he interned with Buffalo's only 24-hour news network, YNN – Time Warner, where he was later hired as a part-time news assistant. Matt is currently a managing editor with The Spectrum and a senior communication major.

Everyone's had the thought that maybe they want to shed a few pounds or tighten things up a bit. Now of course, there are many ways to go about this. Start exercising more, eating right, etc. But one way no one should ever, and I mean ever, try to lose weight is by going on a Taco Bell diet.
