Jim Norton brings his honesty to the Buffalo comedy scene

Jim Norton became interested in stand-up comedy when he was 12 years old. Now, Norton performs at sold-out shows across the country and runs a radio show on weekday mornings. He has also created several podcasts, appeared in a few comedy shows, published two books and may have a small role in the upcoming Netflix feature film “The Irishman.” 


The Music is Art festival started in Buffalo in 2003 and will be held in Delaware Park on Sept. 10. There will be a surplus of food trucks, vendors and activities throughout the entire day.

Burroughs in Buffalo Author speaks mind at CFA

Dead children and lawsuits aren't the first things that come to mind when thinking of a comedy show. But Friday night at the Center for the Arts, those were some of the topics discussed by author and comedian Augusten Burroughs. Burroughs, known for his New York Times bestseller Running With Scissors, addressed a less than half-packed auditorium that at times seemed unsure of how to respond to the author's wide-ranging stories.

Thanks to YouTube, these days all you need is a video camera and a computer to make yourself a star. But it takes time, a keen sense of humor, and ? according to one ? a little bit of "Jewish geography" to get to nearly 600,000 views and counting.
