Last Saturday night, Alumni Arena hosted two artists at important points in their careers. Both performers were preparing for big releases, and could have used this concert to further promote their material. But by the end of the concert, it was clear that this one was for the fans. After weeks of anticipation, close to 2,500 fans ? including as many as 350 non-students, according to SA Entertainment Director Marc Rosenblitt? crowded the venue to attend the SA Small Concert.

To the unsuspecting eye, Rachel Palumbo is another graduate student walking around UB, but outside this collegiate community, her talents and determination surpass the expectations her physical appearance might display. Rachel, a first year student of UB's Masters of Social Work program, found her voice at UB five years ago.
