On the weekend of April 26-27, thousands gathered around the periphery of the Buffalo History Museum for the annual Buffalo Cherry Blossom Festival. UB Theatre and Dance unveiled its 2025 rendition of “The Pajama Game” with its opening night on Friday, April 25, at the UB Center for the Arts. As the lights in the glamorous Drama Theatre dimmed, Vernon Hines, played by sophomore musical theatre major Ty Burgess, wasted no time breaking into a musical number, introducing the audience to the world of Sleep-Tite Pajama Factory and rambling about his obsession with time efficiency.

UB mourns the loss of Anthony “Tony” Policare III, a cherished former quarterback, coach and lifelong Bull. On April 21, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer, Policare departed this world at the age of 55. UB football honored him and his legacy in an Instagram post last Wednesday, sharing his passing with the UB community.

Katy Perry safely returned to Earth last week after an 11-minute trip aboard the Jeffrey Bezos-funded Blue Origin rocket. She was joined by five other women, including Lauren Sánchez, the fiancée of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos. Perry and the crew embarked on a journey to 100 kilometers above the Earth — the internationally recognized boundary of space. The event was attended by several other members of America’s rich and famous few, such as the Kardashian sisters.

This weekend, softball (12-28, 7-12 MAC) took on the Toledo Rockets (14-26, 7-12 MAC) in Mid-American Conference (MAC) play. The Bulls brought two wins on Saturday, with scores of 21-14 and 8-2, and dropped one game 1-3 on Sunday afternoon. The team’s performance broke five records and tied another.
