Crime continues in Heights


???Buffalo police and firefighters responded to calls involving incidents at two homes in the University Heights this week.

???According to a Buffalo police report, more than $3,000 in valuables was taken from a home on Lisbon Avenue between 8:55 a.m. and 7:20 p.m. on Monday.

???Thieves entered through a window and then punctured three locked bedroom doors. A laptop computer, 90 DVDs, a digital camera, two cell phones, two iPods and a class ring were among the items reportedly taken.

???The landlord told police the residence had also been burglarized two weeks prior to Monday's incident.

???Also in the Heights, Buffalo firefighters responded to a fire on LaSalle Avenue at about 3 a.m. on Sunday. According to a police report, the cause of the blaze is under investigation. No injuries were reported.

???It is unknown at this time if UB students were involved in either incident.
