'Let Us Eat Cake'

The aspect of "removing trays will make students take only the food they will eat" is a lie. There is no peer pressure to not go for that third helping of chicken fingers. They call it the "Freshman fifteen" for a reason. People will eat as much as they want to. They will have that handful of chips, 2 glasses of Pepsi, and will have that freshly baked cookie or ice cream for dessert. Without the tray, it is not more comforting, it is more of a hassle. I want to get food and a drink and sit down, not make 4 trips into the kitchen bumping with other students as I try to balance my two plates of food and a drink. Most of the time holding onto one dish in a crowd of people, leads to dishes falling, breaking, and more of a mess being made. The idea of using peer pressure to stop kids from going back for seconds or thirds is futile. Give us back our trays and instead create and use other programs to make UB a greener campus. We pay enough money for the food we eat. We should be able to eat as much as we want, let us eat our cake.
