The independent student publication of The University at Buffalo, since 1950

Sara DiNatale

Managing Editor

I'm a junior English major and Chai tea junkie. I'm horrible at high-fives and I hail from one of Buffalo's many quaint suburbs.

As I excitedly pass the halfway point of college, there is one thing I've learned: Do what you love and everything else will fall into place. I'm honored to continue my involvement with The Spectrum as a managing editor.

I've wanted to be journalist since I started piecing together a high school newspaper as an eager 15-year-old. And though a lot has changed in five years, at my core I've always wanted to be a writer.

Most recently, I spent my summer at The Buffalo News as a business reporter and I've also interned at Artvoice, a Buffalo alternative news weekly.

The Spectrum has been like another home since my freshman year. Last year, I served as one of the paper's senior news editors. The previous year, I worked up from a staff writer to assistant news editor.

The Spectrum remains the strongest defining factor of my college experience. At this point, if I'm not working whacky hours or tracking down sources, something in my equilibrium feels off.

I wouldn't want it any other way.
