This is one student that wants her mandatory fees lowered because I am definitely not in favor of giving the Student Association president, vice president or treasurer, $12,400 per year. I earned my first bachelor's (attended between 1976 and1980) working two jobs as a waitress and assisting in the university library. I received no state, federal or any other assistance. My first job out of college was teaching fifth grade for which I received $8,500 per year (1980 to 1981). During this five-year period, all I did was work and study. I had no time for a personal life. This is part of what is wrong with America today; too many takers and not enough givers. I am disgusted.
Also, between the 41 percent tuition increase proposal and talk of war in Iraq (both of which I oppose), I would like to know if there is going to be a rally for either issue and where and when it will take place.
