Buffalo Bandits
Two important members of Buffalo's (4-1) indoor lacrosse team will not be playing this weekend when the team travels to Columbus (5-1) to take on the first place Landsharks.
Forward Mike Accursi and defenseman Jamie Hackel have both been suspended for one game by the National Lacrosse League's Office of the Commissioner for "rough play" during the team's win over Calgary last Saturday.
Hackel and fellow defenseman Chris Langdale have also been fined an undisclosed sum by the league for "rough play" during the Bandit's loss to Toronto last Friday.
Calgary forward Jordan West-Prat was also suspended for one game as a result of his actions during Saturday's match-up in Buffalo.
After their date with Columbus, the Bandits return home for a re-match with Toronto on Feb. 8.
The winner of the "Best Dolphins Insult" contest from the last Byrned to a Crisp column goes to the person who owns the screename "sloppyfranks." So if that's you, come on down to the Spectrum office at 132 Student Union on Tuesday at 1 p.m. and collect your $5 and Won Ton soup. Here is the winning insult/conversation.

sloppyfranks: hello sloppyfranks: the dolphins were in rare form this year, sloppyfranks: they didn't even wait for the post season to collapse sloppyfranks: they decided to get it over with early this year and knock a couple strokes off their golf scores Auto response from NFLDolfans: I am away from my computer right now. sloppyfranks: i can't really blame them i mean if i had a guy like Jay Fiedler as quarterback i would try and get the misery over with as soon as possible NFLDolfans signed off at 8:51:31 PM. sloppyfranks: i mean he isn't a great quarterback, he will never bring them to a superbowl, i think a playoff berth is questionable with good ole Jay runnin the team |
