Volleyball

The UB volleyball team recorded another loss on Friday night, as the Bulls were swept by Ball State in three games by scores of 30-15, 30-19 and 30-16. Following the loss to the Cardinals (16-6 overall, 9-1 Mid-American Conference), the Bulls remain winless in the MAC and drop to 7-17 overall on the season. Ball State entered the match ranked eighth in the Mideast Region according to the RichKern.com/AVCA Division I Regional Rankings. Senior Molly Schrantz led UB with eight kills and nine digs. Lizaiha Garcia had a solid night for the Bulls, recording a team-high 11 digs while sophomore Nikki Morzenti finished the match with seven kills and nine digs.

Women's Soccer

Buffalo's women's soccer team was officially eliminated from post-season play this weekend, as the Bowling Green Falcons defeated the Toledo Rockets for the eighth and final playoff spot. UB's chances of making the playoffs were slim, but not impossible. They needed Bowling Green and Toledo to tie, but an outright victory for either team would have taken the Bulls out of playoff contention. The Falcons won the game and have claimed the eighth seed in the MAC playoffs. In the first round of the playoffs, the Falcons will face number one seed Kent State at Kent State.
