If I said I always wanted to be a journalist, I'd be lying. I walked into UB with my mind made up; engineering was my future. It may have taken awhile, but eventually I found out I was dead wrong. I decided to make some changes.
I joined The Spectrum in the fall 2012 semester on a whim. I always had an interest in writing, but I never thought anyone would be interested in my writing. I decided to give it a shot anyway. And I am glad I did.
To say I had a chaotic first year would be an understatement. But the one thing that remained constant the entire time was The Spectrum. For three days a week, I knew I had a place to go, and to be perfectly honest, those were always the three days of the week I looked forward to most.
Now, I am a senior news editor and this summer, I was an intern at a local television news station, WIVB-TV.The Spectrum is a big reason for the direction I am heading in and I am looking forward to another amazing year.
I've called Buffalo my home for all 22 years of my life. And despite being a diehard Bills and Sabres fan, I am proud to be a Buffalonian. Aside from writing, I enjoy playing music and listening to music. Jon Stewart, Dave Grohl and Marty McFly are probably my biggest influences.
I never really liked talking about myself. I guess that is why I have such a great time writing stories about everyone else.
