Too Much Mudslinging in VP Debate

To the Editor:

I think the Democratic and Republican parties should not be proud of the vice-presidential debate. It seemed like a mud slinging contest. I think we should have put Cheney and Edward in a playground and given them each 100 mud pies to see who would have hit their target more to determine the best vice-presidential candidate.

It seems like John Edward is an absentee Senator. Otherwise, for such an articulate charmer, he did a terrible job of defending his no-show Senator record.

Also, considering John Edward is such an infamous trial lawyer, he seemed to have a hard time following the rule of not mentioning John Kerry's name (he said it twice), when he was specifically asked by the moderator of the debate in a particular question to not mention his name

Again, although both candidates knew that millions of Americans would be watching the vice-residential debate, John Edward referred to President George Bush as George Bush. I think this shows a lot of disrespect on the part of John Edward toward the current president of the United States of America.

The most chilling, nasty remark, I thought, was when John Edward informed America that Dick Cheney had a homosexual daughter. I thought people's sexuality was their own business; especially in the minds of the liberals. John Edwards reached a low ("snake in the grass") point in my mind when he did this verbal deed. I realize that Dick Cheney thanked him, but if I had been Dick Cheney, I would have stood up and punched John Edwards in the face and I am a person who believes in non-violence.

Finally, I am one American who would like to see Ralph Nader included in the Presidential Debates. I think it is awful small-minded of the Democrats and Republicans not to include him. What are they afraid of? Nader only has 1 percent of the vote according to the reliable polls.
