An investigation into allegations of misconduct by a staff member of the UB Chabad House is being conducted by the College of Arts and Sciences, school officials said Wednesday.
A source, who requested that his name be withheld, contacted The Spectrum and said the allegations involve a situation where money was given to a Chabad instructor working in the classics department in exchange for grades.
"It's a very delicate issue, and we have proceeded very carefully to investigate the charges," said Susan Cole, chairwoman of the classics department.
Officials from the CAS could not be reached for comment.
"It's a very serious issue for students, administrators and for the professor involved," said Cole.
