Jim Hofher, the head coach of the UB football program, made the announcement that Miles Aldridge will replace Clayton Carlin as the defensive backfield coach.
Carlin's position needed to be replaced after he left the University at Buffalo to accept a job at New Mexico State last month.
Aldridge's most recent job was with the Buffalo Bills, where he was an inside and outside linebacker's coach. Aldridge has over 25 years of college coaching experience, including jobs at Middle Tennessee State, Southwestern Louisiana, Arkansas, Clemson, South Carolina, North Carolina State, Duke, Mississippi, Tulsa, Wichita State and East Tennessee State.
"I am absolutely thrilled to have Miles joining our staff," said Hofher. "I have known Miles for over 20 years and he brings with him tremendous experience at both the collegiate and professional levels. His recruiting background combined with his overall knowledge of defensive schemes make him a great fit for our program."
With their win Wednesday night over Northern Illinois (15-12, 11-6 MAC), the Central Michigan Chippewas (20-6, 13-4 MAC) clinched the West Division title and the No. 1 seed for the upcoming Mid-American Conference Tournament. Chris Kaman led CMU with 19 points and 14 rebounds.
