UB, Sub-Board I court hearing rescheduled

State Supreme Court Judge Tracey Bannister postponed today's 9:30 a.m. court hearing between UB and Sub-Board I to July 30 at 8:30 a.m.

FSA’s legal team did not provide the legally required time –– as stated in New York State’s Civil Practice Law and Rules –– for SBI’s legal counsel Joshua Lippes to reply to its motion to dismiss.

The hearing comes after SBI filed suit against UB for terminating SBI as the fiscal agent for student governments. UB is currently transitioning SBI’s responsibilities to the Faculty Student Association, a decision which students met with backlash and protest. A State Supreme Court Judge previously issued a temporary restraining order against UB, forcing it to halt the transition. Despite the TRO, SBI’s contract is set to end on July 31.

The court will discuss “everything” at hand with the case at the next hearing.

This is a developing story.
