Suzanne Rosenblith has been named dean of UB’s Graduate School of Education, effective July 1.

Charles F. Zukoski, UB provost and executive vice president announced Wednesday afternoon that Rosenblith has been appointed dean. Rosenblith has served as associate dean of undergraduate programs and professor of educational foundations at Clemson University.

Jaekyung Lee, who has served as dean of the Graduate School of Education since 2013, announced in October he will be stepping down due to "family reasons." He will return to full-time status as a professor of "counseling, school and educational psychology."

UB president Satish Tripathi said Rosenblith is “an ideal candidate to elevate the Graduate School of Education to even greater prominence in the 21st century.”

“Dr. Rosenblith is an innovative academic leader who is known for her ability to bring big ideas to fruition,” Tripathi said in a UB news release. “With her distinguished record of programmatic success, she will surely advance scholarship in the Graduate School of Education and cultivate the next generation of counselors, librarians and educational leaders while serving as an outstanding advocate for our university’s far-reaching vision.”

Rosenblith studies the correlation between religion and public schooling. She earned her Ph.D in educational policy studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and her master’s degree in experiential education from Minnesota State University and a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary social sciences from Muhlenberg College.
