Police Blotter: 10/7-10/11

10/7

1:44 a.m. – The cleaning staff at the Health Sciences Library reported an unknown individual had urinated in trash cans on the mezzanine level. Patrol was dispatched to the scene and reported the trashcan did have a liner and no damage occurred in the room or to the trashcan.

2:54 p.m. – A UB student reported leaving her laptop unattended in the Richmond Quad on Oct. 5 around 11:30 a.m. When she attempted to retrieve her laptop, valued at $500, it was no longer in the area.

8:13 p.m. – A UB student’s wallet and all of its contents were stolen. Patrol was notified and reported the student’s friend had taken the wallet and may have been playing a joke. The wallet was returned.

7:13 p.m. – A UB student reported her UB ID card and keys were missing. She tracked her ID card and found unauthorized purchases on it.

9:08 p.m. – A UB student reported a TV was stolen from the Student Union auditorium.

8:27 a.m. – A caller from the Mackay Heating Plant reported the theft of a band new hooded sweatshirt. The sweatshirt had been taken by a co-worker by mistake and has been returned to him.

9:08 a.m. – A caller reported a dog in a vehicle in Sliver Lot. The dog was not in distress and the window was open.

12:42 p.m. – A suspicious vehicle was found in Alumni B Parking Lot. Patrol reported one window was smashed out and a large industrial tank was in the back seat. The vehicle was not currently registered and appeared to have no insurance. It also did not have a required parking permit.

5:05 p.m. – First Transit reported a black Mercedes blocking the bus lane at Lee Loop. Patrol was dispatched and advised the pizza delivery personnel of parking regulations.

7:21 p.m. – Patrol reported a complaint of subjects asking people for money in the area of Diefendorf Hall and Sherman Hall. Patrol advised subjects and escorted them off campus.

2:11 p.m. – A caller reported an elevator entrapment in Porter Quad. Patrol reported the party was extricated from the elevator and jumping in the elevator caused the entrapment. The party was advised.

2:33 p.m. – An editor for The Spectrum reported an unknown person placing offensive inserts into the Spectrum newspapers. Patrol reported an older person placing fliers into the newspapers without permission. The items placed inside the newspapers are “Buffalo Forum, Local Publication of the U.S. Marxist-Leninist Organization.”

4:57 p.m. – A caller reported a dog locked in a vehicle in Jacobs Lot. Patrol was dispatched to check on the welfare of the dog. The registered owner removed the dog from the vehicle. At no point was the dog in distress.

11:54 p.m. – A person had passed out in the Safety Van at the Goodyear Bus Loop. Patrol requested an ambulance and the person was transported to Erie County Medical Center.

4:33 a.m. – A caller reported a female passed out in the woman’s bathroom in Wilkeson Quad. Patrol requested an ambulance. The female was evacuated and left in the care of the Resident Advisor (RA).

4:46 p.m. - Patrol reported two UB students moving a couch from The Spectrum office. Students had permission to move the furniture.
