Police Blotter for 11/5-11/11

11/5

9:58 a.m. - A staff member requested first aid assistance at the Center For the Arts for a student who had severe flu-like symptoms. Twin City Ambulance transported the subject to Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital.

10:37 a.m. - A staff member in Kimball Tower reported an unknown person called her and harassed her on her work phone. University Police (UPD) took a report.

1:27 p.m. - A caller requested an ambulance for a female who fell and struck her head in Pistachio's in the Student Union. When Twin City Ambulance arrived, the subject, who was alert and conscious, refused transport.

7:29 p.m. - A caller reported an older male and female selling glow sticks in the Baird and Slee parking lot areas. UPD was notified and advised the subjects. The subjects eventually left the area.

11:03 p.m. - UPD reported a female was passed out in the cab of the mechanical bull truck in UB Stadium's service lot. UPD believed the cause was alcohol related. Rural Metro responded and transported the subject to Erie County Medical Center (ECMC).

11/6

3:16 p.m. - A complainant reported a sign from inside Clement Hall was stolen. UPD dispatched and filed a report.

5:34 p.m. - A Goodyear Hall director reported a strong odor of marijuana coming from the south side of Goodyear Hall. UPD did not find anything upon arrival.

11/08

10:14 a.m. - A UB employee requested an ambulance for an 18-year-old female who fainted. Rural Metro Ambulance transported the victim to ECMC.

5:29 p.m. - A complainant reported an older male walking in and out of traffic while talking to himself on Bailey Road near South Campus. The subject was seen walking on Coal Road toward campus. UPD spoke with the subject, who had no affiliation with UB, in Sherman Lot. The man said he was cutting through campus to go to University Station.

6:28 p.m. - A UB staff member reported a suspicious white van with New York State license plates that periodically parks in the overnight row in Fronczak Lot. The complainant sometimes sees someone peeking out of the rear windows. UPD found the vehicle belongs to a current UB student and discovered a bed in it. Patrol will continue to monitor the area.

11/10

3:10 a.m. - The Amherst Police Department (APD) received a complaint of a large group of college-aged subjects jumping on cars at the Villas on Rensch. The subjects were seen leaving on foot toward campus. UPD and APD located a group of young people at the Flint Loop bus stop and advised them to leave the area.

11/11

6:07 p.m. - A student reported he was struck by a black Toyota sedan while walking across the Hadley and Rensch crosswalk near North Campus. He said the male driver asked him if he was OK and he said, 'Yes.' Neither party requested to exchange information with each other. The driver left the area. The victim said he felt disoriented and complained of pain in his left arm and left leg. Twin City Ambulance arrived on location, but the subject refused transportation.
