Police Blotter 3/8/13

10:38 a.m. - A UB employee reported damage done to a keyboard in Millard Fillmore Academic Center. Patrol confirmed the keyboard was damaged intentionally and the damage was worth $50.

1:52 p.m. - Police found Michael Pietrantoni smoking and in possession of marijuana in his Goodyear Hall dorm. The student was issued Student-Wide Judiciary paperwork. Patrol confiscated a small quantity of marijuana and 3 pipes.

3:38 p.m. - Kylia Richards was reported as an aggressor in a fight with another female in the Student Union. Richards was issued SWJ paperwork.

5:34 p.m. - A student reported his wallet was stolen off a desk in Cary Hall. Patrol reported two possible suspects described as one heavy-set Hispanic male with curly hair. The other suspect is described as a Hispanic female with blond highlights. Both appeared to be college-aged and wore black clothing.

9:38 a.m. - A Silverman Library staff member reported a suspicious male on the ground floor of the library was whistling at women when they passed by. The suspect was also seen there the night prior. The man was described as a black 61-year-old man. He has a large build, short black hair and gray beard and wore a red jacket. He has a problem with his right eye, which patrol believes is a possible cataract. The man was later seen entering the VA Medical Center.

11:27 a.m. - Damon Erving turned himself into University Police for menacing with his weapon in Clark Hall.

2:02 p.m. - A resident hall director reported a resident advisor (RA) took a phone call during which the caller was highly agitated and used language that insinuated a threat. The RA did not feel threatened and housing handled the issue.

3:32 p.m. - A student reported he was locked in his room at Hadley Village. His roommate had punched him in the head 10 minutes prior. The complainant had a bump on his head and was experiencing increasing pain. Amherst Fire Control and Twin City Ambulance responded and brought the student to Erie County Medical Center. At 3:48 a.m., a student was arrested and the housing staff was notified. Also in the apartment was another student who had facial abrasions and a small cut on his left eye, which he suffered in an unrelated altercation at Slick Willie's Sports Bar in Tonawanda.

6:41 a.m. - A caller reported every morning, between 6:20 a.m. and 6:30 a.m., a white male walked near the Winspear Service Center Building with an unleashed pit bull. The dog has been attacking other animals and chasing facilities employees.

8:57 a.m. - A UB employee reported while walking through Michael Farber Parking Lot a falcon swooped down and hit him in the head three times. The complainant has minor scratches from the encounter but refused medical assistance.

5:50 p.m. - While conducting bus checks at Flint Loop, patrol observed a subject waiting for a bus. When patrol was checking ID of patrons entering the bus, the subject decided not to enter. The subject was later observed walking around in the area of the Union and was identified by patrol. The subject is not affiliated with UB but claimed to have graduated in 2000 and did have a library card.

2:59 a.m. - A taxi driver reported he was dropping patrons off at the entrance to Core Road in front of Fargo Quad when they refused to pay the cab fare. The complainant said he received a portion of the cab fare and decided to leave campus.

12:44 p.m. - A UB employee reported a female described as approximately 5-feet with long brown hair and wearing a brown jacket was handing out religious flyers and grabbing people at Goodyear Hall. Patrol advised the individual and she left campus.

10:08 p.m. - First Aid Patrol received a walk-up complaint of a suspicious person possibly harassing people on the jogging track at Alumni Arena. The subject was telling various girls on the track "they were cute" or "you look good." The suspect was gone on arrival but was later found by patrol in the weight room. The suspect has no affiliation with UB but did have a recreation card.
