"Male in Clark Hall pulls handgun, flees scene"

On Monday around 3 p.m., a man pulled out a handgun in Clark Hall on South Campus during a dispute over a pick-up basketball game, UB Spokesman John Della Contrada said.

The suspect, who is described as a black male wearing a green and black hooded sweatshirt, grey shorts and black and white sneakers, was last seen leaving the east side of Clark Hall. Della Contrada believes he left campus.

The University Police Department (UPD) is investigating and it has a "strong lead" on the identity of the suspect, according to Della Contrada. He also said the people involved are not affiliated with UB.

"It does not appear to pose a continuous threat to the campus," Della Contrada said.

Students received a text message alert at 3:37 p.m.
