Matt Mosher

Managing Editor

Matt Mosher is a WNY native, born and raised in Wilson, NY (about 45 minutes north of North Campus). He graduated from Wilson High School in 2005, there he took every media arts and video editing class available, focusing most of his time and energy on those classes.
Matt then went on to Niagara County Community College (NCCC), where he started off as a digital media major, but switched after his second semester to communications and media arts, focusing on broadcasting. Throughout Matt's time at NCCC, he made sports highlights films and did other various freelance video works.
After graduating from NCCC in December of 2007, Matt transferred to UB, where he entered the communication program. In the fall of 2008, he began writing for The Spectrum as a staff writer for the Life Desk. For the spring 2009 semester, Matt was offered a position as an assistant editor for life desk, which he gladly took. In the fall 2009 semester, he was promoted to Life Desk editor.
During the spring 2009 semester, Matt also entered the Journalism Certificate program, took a class dedicated to feature writing and went to a journalism workshop in New York City.
In the summer of 2009, he interned with Buffalo's only 24-hour news network, YNN – Time Warner, where he was later hired as a part-time news assistant.
Matt is currently a managing editor with The Spectrum and a senior communication major.
