Joe Paterno

Sports Editor

Born and raised in Buffalo, New York, Joe is the epitome of a true Buffalonian. A graduate of Kenmore West High School, Joe takes pride in his hometown and appreciates everything the city has to offer. No matter where he may be, Joe never forgets his roots and is proud to be a Western New Yorker.
At 21 years old, this dedicated sports fan credits his love of sports to his hometown teams, the Buffalo Bills and the Buffalo Sabres. As a five-year season ticket holder, there's no place Joe would rather be than Ralph Wilson Stadium on a Sunday afternoon or HSBC Arena in the midst of winter. Through the good seasons and bad, Joe is fully devoted to his native teams and will bleed the red, white, blue and gold no matter where he ends up in the future.
The senior communication major began writing for the paper during his junior year as a staff writer and was appointed assistant sports editor after one semester. He is currently the senior sports editor and will take a position as managing editor in fall 2010.
Joe also works with UBTV as the host of The Sports Bull-etin, a weekly sports show that recaps the past week in Buffalo athletics.
His passion for sports led to a love of writing and has given Joe the ambition to begin a career in broadcast journalism. He is currently a programming intern at WGR Sports Radio 550. Following his collegiate days at UB, he hopes to pursue his childhood dream and work with ESPN.
